The definition of a sales funnel is a series of steps designed to guide visitors toward a buying decision. The steps are composed of marketing assets that do the work of selling, like landing pages, lead offers and follow up email sequences. Simple funnels are usually broken down into two phases.
- Awareness Phase – in which prospects become aware of the existence of a product or service.
- Interest Phase – in which prospects demonstrate interest in a product by opting in to learn more, or accepting a low end offer.
*Depending on the vertical , a sales funnel is one of the quickest ways to revive a stale business model or help stir up new revenue inside a struggling organization.
